  • 2024-12-05: After creating Mops way back in 1986, project founder Mike Hore announced he is formally ending his involvement with the project. He gave a couple of reasons, including:

    • He is still using a large screen intel-based iMac, so doesn't have a way to progress work on an ARM version.
    • "But the main reason is that Mops just doesn't represent the state of the art in system-level programming any more. Object orientation has fallen out of favor as unnecessarily complex. With hindsight multiple inheritance wasn't worth the complexities of implementation and simply wasn't such a good idea."
